My Dream Started In Indiana

It seems that I have been drawn to water and native flowers and herbs all of my life. As a child, I grew up in Southern Indiana, close to the White River with at small stream running along the back of my Uncle's Farm. My Mother, Grandmother and Aunts all loved gardening and sharing starts of new flowers and herbs. My cousin and I would admire and sometimes muse at our Moms' competitive sisterships related to gardening and culinary creations.

Early recollections of family time with my Aunts and the adventurous after dinner times with my cousins down by the river instilled in me a love for the peacefulness and tranquility of babbling brooks and flowing water.  While learning to skip rocks across a lake to walking through a shallow stream searching for crawdads or other natural habitants, I also learned about the natural beauty of wild flowers.

My First Ocean Experience

During my college years, I found peaceful relaxation along these same childhood favorite places or in new water related areas. As I pursued my nursing degrees, I was drawn to the concept of Holistic Nursing and became an advocate for the treatment of the whole body not just the physical part. As I learned more about stress and natural relaxation, I realized that a great number of people are the root of their own stress and that while our stress cannot always be controlled, the way we react to and perceive it can be altered.

My first ocean encounter was during Daytona Spring Break in 1971. I was in awe of the beauty of the ocean and the relaxing effects that it had on many people of all ages. I realized that their must be a connection between the comforts of the ocean and the aromatic health benefits of lavender.

I have always dreamed of someday having a waterfront setting to help others learn how to self control their stress. Now, my dream has come true. Nestled in a small Historic town along the Mississippi, I am sharing my knowledge and experiences with others during a series of relaxation classes and related activities for health enhancement.
